Investment is ourselves,
When finance which should be circulating in a community moves out, the other community gets richer while one gets more poor. This is one of the syndromes which hinders development in many disadvantaged communities when people believe they should not reinvest in places they originated and plays no part in helping to develop it. This is covered intensively in the book, The Mis Education of The Negro by Carter G Woodson and I would recommend all Black parents expose your child to the thoughts and solutions in this book. Economic flight and financial assimilation is a serious problem in our communities because we do not seem to have the confidence in trusting our own abilities to function in a black group yet do so when under white direction. This is a culture we must try and change and it is only done by developing successful partnerships so that others can emulate them.
